Dunhill NY Fashion Week * Campaign

Dunhill commissioned Campaign to realize their vision for a temporary installation during New York Fashion Week.

Taking up residence in one of the last remaining archetypal disused warehouse spaces in the Meatpacking district of the city for one week, NY 11-18-02-10 recreates Bourdon House, the home of Alfred Dunhill in London, offering a rare opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of this extraordinary Georgian London House.

As a suburban kid I always had an idealized vision of big city life, and sometimes the fantastic view one has about some certain distant things can be even more beautiful and fascinating than reality itself. Life in the suburbs is totally different, it has its own special codes, but often it can be the source of a striking inspiration, the perfect antidote to a sometimes suffocating environment. Then one grows up and finds out that the distance between things is inexistent and everything is connected in the end Although this doesn’t mean that reaching an ideal cannot be totally creative.

belgian designer liesbet bussche creates jewelry for urban space.
brussche’s large-scale sculptures take on the same forms of jewelry such as earrings and necklaces. concrete balls become pearls for earrings and warning tape is made of woven beads. the artist is currently exhibiting at the ‘what’s new?’exhibition at galerie sofie lachaert until 8 november 2009.
